Residential Resources
Did you know that if you own your own home and are the occupant you can collect your own bulk asbestos samples and save some money?
PacRim offers bulk analysis for our clients including homeowners. The information below will help guide you through your project and and sample collection. All samples should be placed in a zip lock sandwich bag before being transported to our office.
Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) is the regulatory body in our area that regulates asbestos surveys and sampling for renovations and demolition. They have a resource section for homeowners that can help guide you through your project.
If you live in a single family home and you are the owner/occupant you are allowed to collect your own bulk samples to be tested for asbestos. For sampling protocol please see Asbestos Survey Guidance (PDF)
Please see our Laboratory Services section for more information.
Please see our resources page to download a chain of custody for your samples. (Required to transfer samples to laboratory.)
